Bangalore:In a significant move to position Madhya Pradesh as a leading destination for technology investments and a major IT hub, the Madhya Pradesh government, in collaboration with NASSCOM, hosted a roundtable at Four Seasons, Bengaluru on 7th August 2024
The event was graced by the honorable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Mohan Yadav,top industry leaders focused on opportunities in the IT, ITeS, ESDM sectors in Madhya Pradesh.
The roundtable, attended by industry stalwarts such as Rajesh Nambiar, CEO, Cognizant, Bindya Raj, Global Delivery Head, Infosys, Sunil Deshpande, Delivery Centre Head, TCS, Rahul Atri, Managing Director, Rakuten, Lalitha Indrakanti and many others, focused on key areas including IT, ITeS, Global Capability Centers and their respective policy, having subject matter specific talent , ER&D support, and the available social ecosystem for businesses to thrive.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the state government’s commitment to creating aconducive environment for the IT industry. “We all in this quorum will drive India’s growth story under the vision of hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make India a developed nation by 2047. Madhya Pradesh cities are cost effective with sufficient talent to drive the business
ecosystem in the state,” said Dr Mohan Yadav.
Sanjay Dubey, Principal Secretary Depart Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh discussed the state’s potential as an emerging tech hub, sharing insights on the key differentiators that sets Madhya Pradesh apart like strategic connectivity, lower commute time,
pollution (air, noise, light) free state, 33% forest cover, UNESCO heritage sites & more.
“The policy incentives under the Madhya Pradesh IT ITES ESDM Investment Promotion Policy 2023 cover not just fiscal but non-fiscal incentives offering support to data centers, GCCS & women entrepreneurs,” further added. Anshul Gupta, Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation set the context of how Madhya Pradesh is emerging as India’s next tech destination.
Rajesh Nambiar, CEO of Cognizant, highlighted the immense potential of Madhya Pradesh. “The 3E’s comprising Expertise, Environment & Economics are the focus areas we look at while looking for expansion opportunities in other geographies. We are excited to open our new Cognizant facility in Indore soon. In the last 10 years, MP has come a long way and Indore today specifically is a great hub for IT, ITeS ecosystem,” he said.
Bindya Raj, Global Delivery Head, Infosys expressed interest in opening a Software Technology Park in Indore.
At present they are 3400+ resources and due to the readily available talent in the state they are looking to build a people force of 10,000 + workforce. “Infosys is keen on hosting
enabling sessions to train the local talent available with its upcoming AI Centre of Excellence in Indore.
NASSCOM played a pivotal role in moderating the session and facilitating discussions between the government and industry leaders. “We believe Madhya Pradesh has the potential to become
